2024 was an exceptional year for industry services and R&D at CBOne. We are very happy to conclude the year with the publication of a European Patent, coming from the project we conducted from 2021 to 2023 called Bluetifuel. This is about the safe and low-NOx combustion of hydrogen. In this fifth patent of our IP portfolio, P&P Industries GmbH owns the patent and will see that the technology is deployed, e.g. in the fields of process engineering and energy. CBOne is the inventor.

Patent AT523924B1: Recursive Sequential Combustion

We at CBOne are very proud to announce the recent grant of this patent related to our MOeBIUS technology, which could become a game changer!

Recursive sequential combustion allows the circulation of a large quantity of burnt gases in the loop formed by an annular combustion chamber. The recirculated combustion gases maximise interaction with the fresh reactants and make the hot core more heat conservative. All burners are arranged in a ring, literally placed one behind the other. The inlet and exhaust gas paths are located in the walls. This unique concept leads to positive effects such as robust lean operation and excellent NOx and soot performance.

The patent about the MethaNull technology is granted. The idea is the precision drive of thermoacoustics for a positive impact on the combustion quality using a pilot burner, and the related method makes use of a siren as an exciter.

Better, safer, cleaner combustion

How can one drastically reduce fuel consumption? If the margin in terms of gains in efficiency at the main operation point is low (less than 5% using conventional combustion on most of the thermal facilities), the margin in terms of fuel savings at off-design operation is much greater.
Combustion technologies can be improved. Furthermore, the operating costs of thermal facilities can be reduced while improving safety. We address these affirmations with three flagship projects at CBOne: MethaNull, rePorT, and emootion.

At Combustion Bay One, we own these technologies, we fine-tune these and we regularly publish our results.
